Short bio
Rodric Rabbah is the Head of Product for Astro AI and Flows at Postman, where he works at the intersection of AI and APIs, visual programming, and serverless computing to enable an agentic future. He is the founder of Astro AI, a control platform for AI agents that makes it universally easy to package, deploy, share, and operate agents at scale, closing the gap between a working prototype and a production system. He founded Nimbella, a serverless cloud company successfully acquired by DigitalOcean, where he launched DigitalOcean Functions and integrated serverless computing into the App Platform, giving DigitalOcean its serverless cloud. He is also the primary creator of Apache OpenWhisk, the open-source serverless platform he developed at IBM Research. Rodric holds over 10 patents in cloud computing and developer tools and is passionate about building delightful integrated user experiences that change the way the next wave of builders interact with technology. He also mentors high school students in entrepreneurship through IncubatorEDU, a program he has supported for over four years.
Full bio
Rodric Rabbah is a technologist, researcher, and product leader at the intersection of infrastructure, developer tools, and artificial intelligence. He is currently Head of Product for Astro AI and Postman Flows at Postman, where he is building the next generation of tools for AI agent deployment and API-driven development.
At Postman, Rodric is the driving force behind Astro AI (astropods.com), a control platform that makes it easy to package, deploy, share, and operate AI agents, bridging the gap between local prototypes and production-grade autonomous systems. He also leads Postman Flows, a visual low-code platform used by millions of developers at companies like PayPal, Moneris, Adyen, and HubSpot to design, automate, and share API workflows.
Before Postman, Rodric co-founded Nimbella, a serverless computing startup successfully acquired by DigitalOcean, where he went on to launch DigitalOcean Functions and integrate serverless computing into the App Platform, giving DigitalOcean its serverless cloud. He is widely recognized as one of the creators of Apache OpenWhisk, the open-source serverless computing platform that powered IBM Cloud Functions and continues to power Adobe I/O Runtime, recognized as a production-ready, enterprise-grade solution for event-driven applications.
Rodric spent over a decade at IBM Research, where he founded the OpenWhisk initiative, led the Liquid Metal project (high-level programming for FPGAs), and built tools like Composer and Cloud Shell for serverless function composition. Prior to IBM, he was a research scientist at MIT CSAIL, contributing to StreamIt, a language and compiler for stream processing on parallel architectures, and co-teaching a multicore programming course through MIT OpenCourseWare.
His work spans programming languages, compilers, distributed systems, and developer platforms. He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed papers, holds numerous US patents, and has been featured in Forbes, ZDNet, and InformationWeek. A recognized voice in the serverless and API communities, Rodric has spoken at Serverless NYC, KubeCon, IBM Index, CMU, and appeared on Red Hat's Command Line Heroes podcast. He also gives back as a mentor for IncubatorEDU, a high school entrepreneurship program, where he has worked with aspiring student founders for over four years.
